Heineken's advertising ( Advertising )

This TV ad from the Netherlands was released in 2008 by the agency TBWA. The realisator of this advertising is called Bart Timmer

I chose this advertising because the brand Heineken is everywhere in Netherlands. More over, we don't have a lot of alcohol's advertising in France while here there are many.
I love this TV ad because it reminds me the Sarenza advertising that we have in France.
Indeed, the men are screaming so loud when they see the wardrobe full of beer.

More over, Heineken has a really good communication in the Netherlands because for example, in Amtserdam you can do an excursion to cruise on the canals with a Heineken boat in a way to discover the city. For this attraction, the price is 84 euros for approximately 7 hours.
After the boat excursion, it is possible to take a ride in the carriage heineken to discover the city centre.
Here you can see the Heineken's boat

Here you can the Heineken's carriage
To finish with Heineken, you can also go to The Heineken Experience museum, located in Amsterdam.Heineken Experience museum proposes to introduce you to the history and method of manufacture of the world famous Dutch beer.
The Heineken Experience invites an initiatory and playful journey to the heart of the old Heineken brewery which was built in 1867.
Finally, Heineken Experience has everything to conclude the visit as it should. After testing your knowledge of brewing, tasting the life of a bottle of beer, you deserve to enjoy a famous Heineken! The cost of access to the museum includes effect three drinks (beer or soda).

Amsterdam : A wonderful city ( Free subject )

Since I have been in the Netherlands, I went 5 times in Amsterdam. It was the fist time I went to this city and  surely not the last because Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful city I have ever seen.
Starting from arnhem, it is very easy to get here because it is only an hour by train.

This is what you see when you leave the train station in Amsterdam

I went there to see two of my friends who are also studying at ESDES (LEETOUBLON Thomas and CAMERANO Marine). They have a really nice flat in the city centre. With them, we visited the city during the day and we went to a nightclub called the TROUW for the night. The Amsterdam's nightlife is way crazier than in Lyon and every weekend, famous DJ are playing in this city.

Here you can see one of the many coffee shop in Amsterdam.
This one is the most famous because it is the first one.
He is located in the red light district !

Here you can see a typical street in Amsterdam with the tramway.

Last time I went there, I was with three friends of Arnhem. We decided to go there because the weather was really nice. So, we spent our day in the city centre and we went to a nightclub in a warehouse at night.

Here is a picture on a bridge with one of the many canals of Amsterdam.
From left to right, there is my friend Juan, an argentian from Buenos Aires, Mark an Irish from Dublin, Tristan a French from Paris and me.

Next trip in Amsterdam : KINGSDAY on the 26th of April !!

Amsterdam will celebrate King’s Day (Koningsdag) for the first time in 2014, after the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander on 30 April 2013 (what was then still Queen’s Day).
King's Day (formerly Queen's Day) festivities invite locals and visitors alike to soak up Amsterdam's open-air fun. In the streets, canals, parks and everywhere in between, the city is bursting with orange as Amsterdammers enjoy the biggest street party of the year. Amidst orange-pride, live music, DJs, parties and a citywide street market, you'll find an electric atmosphere not to be missed.

Arnhem's history ( Geopolitics )

During the second World War, the city of Arnhem has been devastating byt the Polish And the British paratroopers.
Indeed, in September 1944, Polish and British were dropped behind German lines to attack the bridges over the Rhine.
Nowadays, Arnhem's bridge is called "John Frost Bridge" because of the British officer who was in charge of the paratroopers' battalion.
The city will be liberated by the Anglo--Canadians allies three weeks before the end of the war in Europe,on the 16th of April, 1945.

Culture of the Netherlands (Social rituals)

Dutch culture is almost the same as in France except for some things :

  • The official language of the Netherlands is Dutch, spoken by almost all people in the Netherlands but you can easily be understood by everyone because everyone here talks english.
  • Everyone travels by bike in the city and must be very careful about them because they are a priority and they hate being walked on their bicycle path.
  • In any shops, restaurants or bar, you have to pay 50 cents to use the toilet. I was shocked when I saw this the first time.
  • In Arnhem, all the shops close at 5:00pm except Thursday where they close at 9:00pm. It's weird to see no one in the streets after 6:00 pm.
  • Unlike France, all the Dutch are very hospitable. More over, it is much easier to interact with the teacher because they are very close to the students and this is something that I really appreciated.
On this website, we can check all the things dutch people likehttp://stuffdutchpeoplelike.com/

As you can know, the world cup 2014 has started now and on the 13th of June, the Netherlands were playing against Spain.
For this world cup, all the dutch had prepared it by putting orange flag everywhere in the streets and also in the stores.
For this game, we went to the city centre with my friends to watch the match because they put a huge screen on the biggest square of Arnhem.
The place was really crowdy and everybody was wearing orange clothes. For this game, nobody expected what's gonna happen.
First, they were loosing 1-0 but they egalized just before half time. But during the second half time, the game began to be so crazy. They put 4 other goals to win 5-1. At the end of the game, all the dutch were jumping everywhere, screaming and drinking!
I had such a good time during this celebration.

Picture that I took of the square for the football game

Here is a video that I took  after a dutch goal !!

Arnhem Business School (University profile)

During my semester in Arnhem, I will be studying at the Arnhem Business School (ABS). It is the business school of the HAN University in Arnhemthe Netherlands. It offers Bachelor and Masters degrees in business, logistics and management. ABS programmes are taught in English, with about 600 students from more than 20 different countries. The main objectives of ABS are to enhance employability and internationalisation.

I love this school because I met so many peoples from other countries. I think, most of the people are spanish, french or germans.
Moreover, I really enjoyed because we had to do a lot of presentations in front of the class and it really helped me to improve my english.
My semester is almost finish and I am really sad about it because I am gonna so much all the people I met and also the ambiance in the Netherlands.
My last exams is on the 19th of June and I am leaving the Netherlands on the 28th of June.

I chose to take 4 courses in this school :

            • Event Management
            • English
            • E-Marketing and E-Commerce
            • Business to Business and Relations Marketing
